CAMPING

The Rock Kestrel Camp Site, situated on the bank of the Piet's River, is designed for self-catered camping. 

A maximum of 4 vehicles and 8 clients are allowed.

Our typical client is a person with a passion for wild places, and a need for privacy and exclusiveness.  Clients book the entire camp, and therefore have exclusive use of the facilities.

The area is ideal for short hikes.  The charming plant life can keep you fascinated for days on end, while bird life is prolific.  Animal life includes red hartebeest, kudu, gemsbok, duiker, steenbok, honey badger, leopard (on occasion), caracal, aardwolf, baboons, aardvark, porcupine etc.

                     

The camp offers the following:

• Four concrete platforms for pitching tents

• Kitchen / Braai area with roof

• 1000 liter water tank for washing

• Hot water donkey

• Bush shower

• Two waterless toilets

Clients provide all their own camping equipment (e.g. tents, kitchen equipment, chairs,  etc.) and supplies like drinking water and fire-wood.  At least one 4X4 vehicle must be included in the group.

Clients can order guide services, e.g. a guided morning walk or a sundowner with afternoon / night drive.  Prices on request.

Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended to reach the camp.
